16.99 Miles: or How I Quit Wondering and Learned How Far I Had Biked
So, today I ventured out on my bike to get back on it after a five day hiatus. I was also going to test out a new iPhone app I downloaded, Cyclemeter GPS Cycling Computer for Road & Mountain Biking (that’s a ridiculously long name).
The main screen for the app times you, tells you the distance you have gone, and your top and average speed. There are many other screens, one that shows a current map of the path you have traveled on your trip, one that I believe is just a calendar to keep track of your biking adventures so you can see your progress. It also has a screen that gives graphs of your speed and elevation.
Here is the first screen, kind of an overview:

And the more screen that lists everything else:

The app has a lot of nice features, and was well worth the $4.99 price. At the end of your ride, after you stop the stopwatch, you can have it send you an email with a nice overview of your ride, it also sends you a link to your ride on Google Maps (you can see a picture of that below).
Here is the email I received after completing my ride:

I was looking for something to not only keep track of how far I had been going, but also where I had been going, this is perfect for that. I would recommend this to anybody thinking of getting a cyclometer. Of course you need an iPhone to use it, but really, you should have one of those already shouldn’t you?
